Yesterday we attended church service with my husband’s grandmother. By “we”, I mean the whole big extended family. It was her church’s 100th Birthday Celebration, and she had requested that we all attend several months. I couldn’t help it, through the beautiful music program and the walks down memory lane, I had several ACS thoughts come to me through the service.
I had another experience of leaving my son in a nursery I was not familiar with. He is at an age now where the unfamiliar surroundings unnerved him more than they did me! (An hour in to the service he did get so upset, they did come and get one of my brother-in-laws to come get him. I was on the other end of the pew and didn’t even realize it, but sat worrying about how he was doing!) Going in to a new church nursery can’t help but make me think of our Safeguard Tab and ability to request Background Checks in the product. Some folks have mentioned that they have trouble understanding the whole data flow of that area and the best use. Sometimes everyone needs a 30,000 foot view of a process. So, last week we published a simple online video reviewing the entire Safeguard process and how it works. Feel free to check the ‘Integrated Background Checks” out at: http://apps.acstechnologies.com/events/TrainingVideoLibrary/default.asp
The service we attended yesterday was at a traditional Southern Baptist Church. They did put their traditional hymn verses up on 2 screens in the front of the Sanctuary, though. It made me think about our Broadcast product. Here I was in a church that was using projector screens that was not a Mega church and didn’t have a guitar and drum praise band. None of that is a bad thing, it is just out of the stereotypes we all some times have! There would be a great use for our Broadcast product there to be showing the events prior to the service. Broadcast is available to any client that has Facility Scheduler. All the client has to do is sign up at: http://www.acstechnologies.com/broadcast They could use it on their projectors before the service, during the service, or even on a screen before Staff meetings. Lots of possibilities!
I enjoyed the ACS moments and learning about the history of another church in the area. Happy 100th Birthday to the church! What a great milestone!
