Two weeks from today, we’ll be kicking off the Ideas to Impact Conference. I can’t wait! Every year I look forward to the time with our staff and clients. There is a lot to be learned in the classrooms. Out of the long list of classes, there are plenty of new things to learn. The learning isn’t just in the classrooms, though. A good bit of the experience from the week happens outside of the classroom. It is the conversations between clients. I enjoy in the evenings seeing two churches that met during the day in a class headed out of the hotel doors to share dinner together. They met on some common ground, maybe they both raised their hand and asked the same question, and connected. Some of the best knowledge comes from other individuals, just like yourself. Learning from the brainstorms and experiences of each unique church or organization. This year at Conference, you’ll even notice that some of the teachers are actual clients!
With that concept in mind, I wanted to kick off the Conference count down sharing a few more examples of what other clients are doing for us to all learn from:
- * Lutheran Church of Hope – They are having great success with their Online Giving. They met their 3 Year goal in 3 Months! Check out their Video Success Story to hear more about their experience. You can also see their site at www.hopewdm.org. You might especially note their Online Giving page and Event Registration page. (They are also going to be one of the teachers at Convention! I can’t wait to hear more about how this church “makes it happen”!)
- * Clear Creek Community Church – They have a great web site! A multi-site that allows you to choose your campus when you go to www.clearcreek.org. Once you enter, you can easily find out how to Give Online. Also, it is a good example of the social media times we live in with the Twitter and Facebook links on the staff page.
- * First Evangelical Free Church – They have re-branded Access ACS as myFEFC. (We’re big fans of that. As much as we love ACS, the folks at your church don’t know who we are but who YOU are. It should be all about your church and have a name that reflects that.) Check out their page of FAQs and especially Tutorial Videos about myFEFC.
I look forward to meeting lots of you and learning more about YOUR ideas and YOUR impact!
