Sun Stand Still

Last week we asked, “What impossible thing are you believing God for?” The responses we received displayed the kind of faith we should have… believing God for the unbelievable!

Some folks talked about standing strong during a weakened economy, while others are believing for strides in personal growth.

Here are the five winners of Steve Furtick’s new book “Sun Stand Still” and what they had to say:

Greg Simmons – “I’m believing God can grow our new home fellowship network – Palmetto Gatherings. This is a network of house churches/home fellowships. None of us are pastors, but I guess you could say we’re planting a different type of “church”. It certainly goes against the normal church structure here in the US. It’s new, exciting and scary all at once.”

Cherry Lyn Hoffner - “A job for my husband who was “transitioned” down to part-time back in November!”

Anne Bryson Jolly – “I’m believing in God to get me (and my family) through seminary. As a mother of 3 girls (two pre-teens) with a husband who travels, seminary is beyond difficult. However, I believe that God can not only get us through this, but build us up so that we are prepared to serve him and shine his light into this world. (preferably at a church with ACS…)”

Johnna Artzner
: “I am believing God will lead my family through a stressful time with my husband having a serious surgery next Friday. I am believing He will protect my husband from the illnesses going on with our son so my husband doesn’t get sick before the surgery. I am believing God will bless the doctors performing the surgery and give my husband and I peace leading up to the surgery. I am believing the surgery will be successful and have and uncomplicated recovery process. I am believing He will provide for our family during the 8 week recovery time. I am believing He will help me with extra patience to handle all of the family & child-rearing dutes as well as my work at the church.”

Kimberly Ginfrida – “Keeping out of emotional, physical ruts.”

Thanks to everyone who submitted a response.

For our winners, enjoy the book and let it remind you of the great, big God we serve!
